IP Address
IP address is a unique identifier of a computer on TCP/IP networks and on the internet.
Every computer requires a unique IP address to be a part of the internet and IP address is provided by internet service providers (ISP).
There are 2 types of IP
1. IPv4
2. IPv6
The IPv4 address is made up of 32 binary bits which are broken into four octets (1 octet = 8 bits).
for example 172.16.81.100
There are five classes of IP addresses such as A, B, C, D, and E.
In this only three classes A, B, C are in use. Class D IP addresses are reserved for multicast group and cannot be assigned to hosts and Class E IP addresses are experimental addresses and cannot be assigned to the people.
Example of IP classes are:-
Class A - 10.10.1.1
Class B - 150.10.10.10
Class C - 192.168.1.100
Class D - 230.50.100.1
Class E - 245.10.0.12
