1. PDA - The first PDAs , which hit the market in the mid 1990s were little more than glorified notepads, making it possible to store a record of notes, phone numbers, calendars, day-to-day appointments on an electronic device.
New feature including 3D games, multimedia applications and even wi-fi internet access have become common place on modern day PDAs, making them both practical and entertaining.

2. Notebook - The first notebook computer was introduced in 1981 but they were very expensive and not as versatile as they are today. IBM and Epson both placed versions of portable laptops on the market in 1983.
Some improvements that occurred around this time were a better battery that no longer included acids. Power saving notebook computers were introduced so the life of the battery lasted much longer.

3. Smart phone - Motorola introduced some of first cell phone to the public during the 1980s. These cell phones were completely unlike the cell phones of today since they were not at all compact not by any means cost effective.
Cost of these cell phones were $4000, and weighed over 2 pounds.
The first smartphone was developed by IBM and Bell South, which came out to the public in 1993.
